Night Guard Lab description

Teeth grinding (bruxism) is a serious condition that can lead to broken or worn teeth, jaw pain and morning headaches. If you grind your teeth, you need a dental guard to correct the problem before you cause long-term damage.

Night Guard Lab produces custom-built dental guards. The Lab is a member of the National Association of Dental Laboratories (nadl.org) Proactive Labs.

The Night Guard is an outstanding product that is cheaper and more effective than a dental guard made by your personal dentist. It covers and protects teeth so that they no longer cause expensive damage by grinding together in the night.

The funny part is the dentist doesn’t makes any of the mouth guards. He/She always sends them to some dental lab that makes the night guards and charges the dentist who doubles the price so you end up paying like 300-700 dollars. You can bypass the dentist and let NightGuardLab.com ease your pain with a custom fitted night guard, directly from the lab!.

How it Works

Step 1 - You will receive a kit, complete with written instructions.

Step 2 – Take out one piece of blue and one piece of white putty.

Step 3 - Combine the pieces of putty together for 45 seconds.

Step 4 - When the putty is a solid blue color, roll it into a cylindrical or ‘finger’ shape.

Step 5 - Fill the tray with the rolled cylinder of putty. Ensure the putty fills the entire tray.

Step 6 - Gently press the tray over your upper or lower teeth. Hold for 4 minutes before removing it.

Step 7 – Using the supplied pre-paid envelope, send your impressions to the lab. The dental appliance will be shipped to your door within days. You save 70% of the cost of a dental guard by eliminating the need for a dentist visit!

If you already have your own molds, Night Guard Lab offers 20% off the total price. There is a 20% off rebate email included in your order. Simply print it and send it to Night Guard Lab with your molds to receive the rebate! (Download Rebate Form)

FAQ

Can I talk while I am wearing the Night Guard?

Yes, of course. You can talk freely while wearing the Night Guard. It is very comfortable to wear because it is custom-made to fit you. Your tongue is free to move without restriction.

What is the Night Guard made from?

There are both soft and acrylic Night Guards. All Night Guards are made from laminates that are energy absorbing and FDA-approved. They are hypoallergenic, non-latex materials. All materials were chosen with maximum comfort in mind.

How do I know which type of Night Guard to order?

If your dentist has given you advice, you should always order accordingly. If not, determine which set of teeth (upper or lower) shows the fewest signs of wear. These are the sharper teeth, and you ideally need to wear your Night Guard on this set. However, you can still order the opposite arch if you feel more comfortable with it. Either way, both sets of teeth are protected. If you consider yourself a very heavy grinder, do not order the Acrylic Night Guard, as it may not withstand over 200 lbs of pressure, which is typical for heavy grinders.

How do I clean and care for my Night Guard?

Mix a guard cleaner, such as Ortho Clean, with water and soak your Night Guard in this solution. This removes harmful bacteria, plaque, and germs and will eliminate odor.

What if I receive my Night Guard and it doesn’t fit?

Lab technicians are available to adjust your Night Guard if you have any problems. Simply call the customer service number, and a dental technician will assist you.

Can you tell me about the teeth-whitening product that is available with my order?

Night Guard Lab offers an additional product called Pro-White Teeth. It is both popular and cost effective. Although the entire teeth whitening system normally retails for $99.95, there is a significant discount on that price if you order it with your Night Guard! The complete system includes 3 tubes of carbamide peroxide whitening gel (6 treatments per syringe). Used with separate custom-built whitening trays, your teeth will be up to 10 shades lighter in 7-10 days.

I had a LOUSY customer service experience with NightGuard Labs (FYI:They also own ProWhiteTeeth).

It has taken me nearly 2 months to actually get my night guard.

Round One: Sent in impression, along with THEIR form that lists my email address. Hear NADA for 2.5 weeks, not even an email saying, hey, it’s here, we’re working on it.

No info available on their site when you login to check order status. I email them to inquire, and after a couple of days, they say, it’s shipping out on the 21st. Package finally arrives, marked as shipped on the 25th.

And it was a second mold because my first impression was not usable! (The crappy instructions have photos so tiny as to be USELESS, and the first mold they sent me was too big for my mouth, an adult woman). The second mold was youth size, so guess they figured out the first mold would not have worked because I couldn’t clamp my teeth onto it without gagging.

So, I take a new impression, and this time, I insure the package. (And they also included USEFUL instructions the second time around).

They got the new impression on Dec 6, and I received it, at last, on Dec 26. Again, ZERO communication from them via that same form with my email address on it.

Okay, the guard fits. But this company needs to bring in an expert in customer service, or actually, anyone outside their company with a brain in their head.

Tip One: EMAIL THE CUSTOMER WHEN YOU RECEIVE THEIR IMPRESSION.

Tip Two: Update the order status on your site.

Tip Three: When the impression arrives, run it by the dental tech right away, who could have instantly ascertained that the impression was no good, and save 3 weeks of diddling around.

Tip Four: Write better instructions. (Telling the customer there is enough material for a “mistake” is useless. If you mix the two materials all at once, they start to set immediately. So by the time you realize you’ve screwed up, there is no “do over”.) Provide a link to an online video demonstrating taking an impression (they are all over YouTube, which I found out after the fact).

Basically, the overall impression I have of this company is they have 2 employees and a desktop mold maker.

I’d steer clear of NightGuardLab and pay a little more for a company that actually grasps what customer service is.

If I could give Zero stars I would give them to Night Guard lab. They are awful. I ordered from them and never received back the nigh guards after 1.5 months. Try to contact them and they are very very slow in replying my emails. Worst experience ever. They returned my money but kept $24 for a shipping that never occurred.
