Dental Mouth Guards 101 – All You Need to Know About Them

You might have lived for years grinding your teeth at night (sleep bruxism) without being aware of it. You have probably suffered from sore jaws, and waking up with an unexplained headache. Your teeth are probably already damaged. If you have just found out from your sleeping partner or your dentist that you grind your teeth, the first thing you have to do is get a mouth guard to stop your problems from becoming worse.

Mouth guards are fairly simple devices that protect your teeth from the damage caused by teeth grinding. Don’t wait! Without a mouth guard, the teeth grinding might result in lose teeth, cracked enamel, worn out teeth, sore jaw, bad headaches, and even often serious condition called TMJ (Temporomandibular Joint Disorder.)

Help! Time again to replace a bite guard. Positive and Negatives to all I’ve tried. Full mouth bite guards worsen clenching/wear tear on TMJ. I prefer the NTI(current guard) however, with the movement of the jaw at night, I have managed to wear down my Central incisors.Would you recommend NTI on both the top and bottom?
