Dr. Brux® Night Guard Description
Whiter Smile of Adelaide South Australia has created its own line of custom moulded mouth guards under the Dr. Brux line. The company offers a single type of guard that can be used for daytime or night-time use, but it offers four different colours and multiple packaging options.
The product has been around since at least 2011, but it is a little bit of an unknown among consumers. Whiter Smile is the main seller for the guard — packaging notes QuattroTi Dentech Srl. Is the creator of the device — and you’ll work with their customer service for any questions.
Product Features
The Dr. Brux Night Guards are a customizable, firm bite guard that use Ethylene Vinyl Acetate, making them relatively sturdy and good for medium grinders and clenchers. You’re looking at a single product offering, but the company offers the guards in four colours to help you distinguish yours from another if you’ve got multiple bruxism sufferers in your home.
Colours include:
- Clear
- Green
- Blue
- Pink
Creating Your Guard
The Dr. Brux products use a simple three-step process that involves creating your mould through a bite tray and boiling water. Unlike other products, you won’t need a spoon or other item to fish the guard out of water. You will need some boiling water, and we recommend using a kettle and a large bowl to minimize the chance of burning your fingers.
Step 1
Grab the plastic arch that comes with your bite guard. This is called the VDC system in the included literature. Hold it so that the curved ends point downward. Insert it into the bite tray by lining up its marks with the tray holes. It’s easiest to start with the lateral holes and then expand the arch so that it slides into the other three holes. Take the lateral pin provided in your kit and insert it into the tray. It’s best to put this in your mouth for a moment so you get a feel for the device.
Step 2
Boil your water and pour it into a bowl. Hold the device by the long, white protrusion at the front and dip the mouth guard and bite tray into the boiling water. Hold it there for 6 seconds. Remove it and shake any water off of it. This will be warm but shouldn’t be hot enough to burn you.
Step 3
Insert the bite tray into your mouth and bite down gently. Close your lips around the guard and suck into the tray for at least 7 seconds to remove any excess water and help it form. This vacuum effect will allow it to customise to your teeth. You may also want to rub your cheeks to help it form properly.
After you’ve had it in your mouth for around one minute, take the tray out and hold it under cold water for at least 2 minutes. This lets it set. Afterwards, remove the outer plastic arch. Your Dr. Brux mouth guard is ready to use.
Guard Recommendations
Whiter Smile has a few suggestions for creating your guard and its use. Most importantly is that you can repeat the steps again if the first attempt is not successful. For any extra areas or spots that are too large, you can trim them off with scissors—the same goes for the bite tray being too long.
Clean your tray regularly by brushing it with toothpaste and cold water, but never wash it out with hot water. It’s also best to keep it away from any heat source.
Pricing Options
The company claims that 200,000 people are current users of its products. It meets their needs with these product options. It also says that 5,000 dentists currently prescribe it, with two providing specific, positive recommendations on its website.

Final Recommendation
Whiter Smile’s Dr. Brux line is a good and straightforward product. There’s not a lot of choice to be made and users find it to provide great relief. It may be too bulky for some with smaller mouths, but the ability for the material to be reheated and reshaped as often as you need means it will have a longer lifespan that many of its competitors.
We don’t actually sell any products at MouthGuardsForTeethGrinding.com, we just evaluate and review them. But we do look for the best dealers and prices on the internet and the best price for the Dr. Brux dental guard seems to be found on Amazon.co.uk
